Following a quiet period in earthquake movements, lasting several decades, it became apparent in the late 1970s and early 1980s that Northern California is still earthquake country. Reports by both seismologists and engineers appeared during these years, recommending retrofitted improvement of existing homes in order to improve safety and prevent financial loss.
Recognizing the need for a service that could do this work for homeowners, Earthquake Safety was founded in 1984, and became a California corporation in 1987.
Licensed in California as a General Contractor, Earthquake Safety, Inc. provides complete seismic strengthening services to homeowners, including both planning and installation of the recommended improvements.
